MIS to me brings back a plethora of memories rushing back whenever I visit the school. I am one of the fortunate ones who continues to be associated with the school whether it is through visits to the ashram, and school or to pick my child who is also a student of the beloved institution.
When I got the opportunity to be a part of the Bhajan Sandhya at the ashram with other alumni of the school, needless to say, I was very happy. Some of us ex-students met at the ashram to practice bhajans with our school music teacher Ms. Rita Chatterjee, reliving memories of music classes with her at school.
On the day of the Bhajan Sandhya on 27th April 2019, we all gathered at the Meditation Hall in the Ashram-a place that epitomises peace, and serenity. Singing the bhajans with Rita Chatterjee ma’am leading us on harmonium, and Fateh Singh Sir on the tabla was an experience that brought back so many memories of what I associated with school assembly which is such an integral part of our school day at MIS. People gathered in the meditation hall and everyone joined in with the singing. Singing together is such a wonderful way to feel the connection with others, and made me relive school assembly again.
I am forever grateful to be called by the Mother’s Blossoms to participate in the Bhajan Sandhya. It was an opportunity to have re-live a part of my childhood again, of which The Mother’s International School is an integral and irreplaceable part.
