Dr. M.R. Anand belongs to the 1981 Batch of the Indian Economic Service (IES). Before leaving the service (on retirement), he was Principal Economic Adviser, Government of India in the Ministry of Communications, DoT and prior to that he was Senior Adviser in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and MD / CEO Media Lab Asia (now renamed as Digital India Corporation). He holds a Phd and an MPhil in Economics from CDS Trivandrum, Masters from BITS, Pilani, Diplome in Enterprise Management from IIAP, Paris, Diploma in Systems Management and a Diploma in French. –
