Health and fitness is an essential component of individual’s transformation journey. MB’s health and fitness initiatives promote Integral Health as envisioned by Sri Aurobindo and the Mother.
Integral Health is a state of being in which the individual’s body (the physical), emotions and life energies (the vital), and thoughts (the mental) are in harmony with the inmost self, the Soul. Absence of such harmony manifests as disease or illness.
In the recent past Mother’s Blossoms has done Dental Camps, created playgrounds, sponsored sports equipment and also started an Open Gym to promote health and fitness.
The year 2020 saw unprecedented times. During these challenging times, the alumni community stood together as a strong support for one another and the society at large.
With Mother’s Blossoms’ vision to connect – collaborate – contribute we reached out to those in need of Covid Relief, Treatment & Hospitalisation.
During Covid times many alumni contributed towards health facilities at the Ashram in Delhi.
Mother’s Blossoms is proud to be a part of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram Delhi’s vibrant village outreach program in Madhuban, Ramgarh. This program is for the villages and schools in the neighbourhood. In 2019 the emphasis has been on physical education and building the village youths capacity for discipline and fitness through sports.
Mother’s Blossoms sponsored the construction of Basketball Court, Volleyball Court, general play area, stage and sitting area in Madhuban. The basketball and volleyball court area was also enclosed with net on the side of the fields. The courts and play area are used by the village children, youth, nearby schools and by the visitors an d children coming in camps to the ashram.
Mother’s Blossoms sponsored a Dental Camp in Auro Mira Vidya Mandir, a tribal village school in Kechala, Koraput of Odisha State from 2nd to 7th March, 2019. Suriyagandhi Di and her dedicated team from Auroville Dental Centre, conducted the camp very joyfully and with so much care.
Around 140 children & staff were checked and treated for various dental issues. Preventive treatment was also done. The children were made aware of oral health and hygiene.
Physical activity and exercise not only helps in enhancing metabolism and energy levels, but also channelizes our energies towards healthy and value-added activities.
Mother’s Blossoms sponsored the equipment and setting up of an Open Gym in Madhuban, Ramgarh to promote physical fitness for all nearby residents. It was inaugurated by none other than Tara Didi, who has always been a great enthusiast of healthy and active living.
Sports activities build children’s courage, stamina and self-confidence.
MB has actively participated in the development of school facilities at AMVM, (Auro Mira Vidya Mandir, the tribal village school at Kechla, Odisha). We supported construction and maintenance of basketball court. Keeping the overall objective to promote health, fitness and active participation in sports for enhancement physical fitness and agility among children and youth at Kechla.
Mother’s Blossoms sponsored a 14 day curative and educative dental program in Madhuban, Ramgarh from 24th Jun to 6th July 2019.
More than 200 students and staff from 17 villages near Madhuban benefitted from the program.
A team of four members from Auroville Dental Centre Education Research Rural Action (ADCERRA) did check-ups, scaling, sealants and ART treatment to those required and also provided education on oral health and nutrition, child safety.
The Mother’s Blossoms most happily provided sports and basketball court equipment at the tribal village school Auro Mira Vidya Mandir in Kechala, Odisha.
With the sponsoring of the sports equipment, Mother’s Blossoms encouraged children for better health, fitness and physical activity. The children have been using the equipment and practice sports on a daily basis as a part of the school schedule.
We endeavour to encourage children to excel in a field of their choice. Mother’s Blossoms sponsored an MIS student to participate in an international event – Asian Youth Chess Championship in Iran.
